A World of Her Own explores solitude as a space actively created rather than simply inhabited. Reclining in the room, the figure is absorbed in her own experience, her attention turned inward despite the openness of the space around her.

The headphones create an invisible boundary between external noise and her private world. Light moves across the interior as she rests, at ease in a moment she has made her own.

The work reflects on the small ways we create spaces of our own, through attention, ritual, and the freedom to turn inward.
